ANGEL FAMILY GRANT PROGRAM

Supported by the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation

The current COVID-19 crisis, in addition to placing many of our residents at grave health risk, has resulted in an unprecedented economic disruption that disproportionately affects society’s most vulnerable - low paid workers and their families. In response to this issue, the Incline Village Rotary clubs have joined together to create the Geno Angel Family Grants program to help families with grants from $500 - $1,000.

Who is Eligible?

Anyone who lives or works in Incline Village/Crystal Bay that has been adversely affected by this economic crisis.  Priority will be given to those with the greatest need. Consideration will be given to employment status, family size and ability to access other assistance programs.

  •  This is a grant; it does not need to be paid back to the Tahoe-Incline Rotary Club.

  •  Disbursement information will be kept in utmost confidentiality.

  •  In order to be considered, recipients must 1) be a current full-time Incline Village resident, or  2) work in Incline Village, or 3) have a

child enrolled full-time in the Incline schools.

  •  Funds are to be used for financial relief related to lifestyle changes due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This includes broad categoris

such as food, shelter, transportation, and healthcare.

  •  Incline Schools will help identify needy recipients. Word-of-mouth referrals are also accepted.

  •  Disbursement amounts will be decided by the Geno Fund Administrators based on need.

  •  Disbursements may be made to individuals or agencies.

  •  During the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to the grant, recipients will be asked to do the following:

     1)  Negotiate with their landlord for a rent deferment, reduction, or cancelation.

     2)  Prioritize their household budgets with consideration for essentials only: food, shelter, transportation needs, and healthcare.

     3)  Leverage other resources within the Incline Community such as local churches, Sierra Community House, and Tahoe Family

          Solutions.

     4)  Attempt to gain full-time employment as soon as possible.  This may require accepting part-time work in any capacity.

     5)  Recipients must endeavor to follow all state and federal directives regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.  This includes the very

          important concept of social distancing.

The Geno COVID-19 Angel Fund was established to address the additional needs that exist because of the pandemic and the economic crisis. We will help as many people as we can. We give it with the guiding principles of truth, fairness and good will to all. We ask that recipients respond in kind, not take advantage of the grants and in turn, help others in any way they can.
